Sperm Whale on Perspective Indicator poster
This is an A1 (594mm x 841mm) printed poster made from the first whale screenprint that Gerry ever made. It was featured in The Guardian Weekend - Feb 2018, and 91 Magazine - Spring 2018.
Gerry made some sketches of a beached sperm whale at Beadnell Bay in Northumberland. Some time later he found a piece of vintage 'Perspective Indicator' paper in a junk shop. The paper looks like a very large sheet of graph paper, but the turquoise lines criss-cross in such a way that it gives the sense of underwater sonar. The whale drawings and the paper came together to inspire his series of whale prints on found sea charts (listed in the shop under Whale Prints)
